Mikey Garcia vs Robert Easter Live Stream (Showtime Boxing)

WBO Lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) and IBF Lightweight titleholder Robert Easter, Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs) stood face-to-face for the first time at their first official press conference. When not staring each other down, the boxers offered their thoughts in advance of their much-anticipated duel on July 28th on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING .
Garcia talked about unifying the lightweight belts and cementing his legacy with a victory over the undefeated Easter. Easter discussed studying film and developing his craft in his preparations for the fight. Then the fighters stood toe-to-toe, each with a championship belt draped over their shoulders. The height disparity is considerable. Easter also has an 8-inch reach advantage over Garcia. If styles make fights, so do sizes. Garcia will have to use all of his considerable skill to counter Easter’s height and reach advantages.

Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) won the title in Jan. 2017, knocking out Dejan Zlatičanin in the third round. He moved up to 140 pounds in July of that year, defeating Adrien Broner by unanimous decision. Instead of going back down to 135 pounds, Garcia remained at junior welterweight and beat Sergey Lipinets to win the IBF belt in March to win his fourth world title in four different weight classes.
Easter (21-0, 14 KOs) captured the vacant belt from Richard Commey in Sept. 2016. He’s gone on to make three consecutive title defenses, winning all of them via decision over Luis Cruz, Denis Shafikov and Javier Fortuna.
